Design with restraint
High-impact visuals work best when they support a clear visual hierarchy. A moving hero can create a first impression, but it should not compete with the core headline or hide the work people came to see.
Treat images as product assets
Choose sizes appropriate to their display. Export efficient formats, provide dimensions to minimize layout shift and avoid fetching high-resolution gallery images until a visitor needs them.
Motion needs an exit
Support reduced-motion preferences, make looping media easy to pause and avoid animations that delay navigation. A memorable experience should not demand attention at the expense of usability.
Build a resilient mobile experience
Mobile design is not a compressed desktop screenshot. Typography, interactions and galleries need their own composition. Important calls to action should remain reachable and usable with touch.
Measure what users actually feel
Look at loading, scrolling, form behavior and interaction response on mid-range devices. Subtle, dependable design details are often more persuasive than expensive effects.
The goal
The most impressive digital products balance visual character with engineering confidence. They feel intentional and are a pleasure to use.
